Internal Medicine Department

The medicine wards are located in 4A, 4B, 4C. The wards are divided by specialty. At the time of this writing, Infectious disease is located on 4A, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, and Rheumatology are localized to 4B, and Cardiology, Pulmonology and Neurology are localized to 4C.

The Emergency Room, also known as Casualty, is located on the 3rd floor. Medical patients are triaged to 3B, essentially the medical emergency room. One ward service will be on-call and responsible for admitting patients from 3B each day (thus a q3 call schedule). Patients are seen in 3B throughout the day as they come in from triage. Patients are evaluated and notes are written while in 3B. (M)
