MWANAMUGIMU NUTRITION UNIT
It was established in Kampala, Uganda in 1965 under the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health of Makerere Medical School. It provides practical experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of children who suffer from protein energy malnutrition.
The unit uses the multiple participatory approach strategies in the management and control of malnutrition in the Community.
The ultimate goal is to cure the severely malnourished and prevent malnutrition in the communities through educating, training and involving mothers whose children are admitted to the unit and community nutrition scouts.
