2. Should have started clinical clerkship if they wish to join Clinical Departments
3. Must have a filled application form
4. Clear goals of the elective
5. Personal insurance

Requirements for residents

All residents are obliged to register with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practioner's Council so as to get a medical license.

Required Documentation for Work and Medical practice in Uganda:

The following documents are required to secure registration:

• A copy of your Ugandan visa (available from a Ugandan Embassy in home country or can be attained at the entry point.
• A copy of your medical license
• A copy of all your degrees/diplomas
• A copy of your curriculum vitae(not to exceed 2 pages)
• A copy of your valid passport- the two pages which include your photograph and personal information
• Copies of certificates of membership in professional organizations
• 4 passport sized photographs (please note that scanned coped are not allowed)
• A letter from a current employer or medical board confirming active status and good standing, as well as length of employment/medical registration.

Visiting physicians must pay to the International Coordination Office office a fee of UShs. 200,000  (approximately US$118) for medical registration upon arrival.
